Inisheeny Island

Inisheeny, known as the meeting place, is an islet located on the sea route to Westport, Clew Bay, Co Mayo.  Since Viking times, it has been a gathering point for trade and provided a safe haven for ships against the worse the Atlantic Ocean brought to bear.   Nestled amongst ‘The Reek’ and the Nephin Mountains it’s pristine waters, island-scattered scenery and rich wildlife has many fascinating secrets to tell.
